Making Do
Pie in a skillet
An oldie but goodie.
When staying in a vacation home you never know what the appliances will be like or how well the kitchen will be stocked.I loved this oven. Not sure how old it is . . . I’ve never seen one that opens like this. It’s a Frigidaire.
Also, I couldn’t find a pie pan so I had to make do using a frying pan and simply made a rustic-style pie in it. The only thing you need to be careful about is making sure the handle is oven proof or you could end up with a melted hunk of plastic in the bottom of the oven. It’s a strawberries n’ cream pie. Just sub strawberries for the peaches in the peaches n’ cream recipe.
