Savory Roasted Pepitas

We hosted a fellowship service for our congregation in our home the other night and I like to serve snacks afterward. This creates a time for people to simply sit around and relax awhile while extending the sharing that occurs as a part of the service. Since it’s fall I decided to go with a pumpkin theme for the snacks and wanted something savory to go along with the sweet, dessert type items I was also going to serve. These roasted peptitas (hulled pumpkin seeds) were just the thing . . .crunchy, savory, and good for you, too!! These are also wonderful mixed with Spanish peanuts . . . my hubby’s favorite combo!

The raw pepitas can be purchased at your local health food store (at least that’s where I’ve found them.) These turned out great and were gone by the end of the evening . . . and I was hoping to have some left to snack on for a few days! BTW, check out the pumpkin bread pudding with caramel rum sauce that I also served!

3 C. raw pepitas (hulled pumpkin seeds)
1 T. olive oil
1 1/2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 t. Lawry’s seasoning salt

1. Place all the ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well to coat the pepitas.
2. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet or two.
