Holly Leaf Clusters

Holly Leaf Clusters

Holiday Cookie #4 These are fabulously easy (only 5 ingredients) and really brighten up a holiday cookie platter! My son who’s 27 still requests these for Christmas and the other day my niece sent out a family email wanting the recipe for these cookies. She wants to make them for her own children. Soooooo . . . even though I hadn’t planned on posting this recipe this year, given the demand – here it is. I hope you like these as much as my kids, nieces, and nephews did and still do!

1/3 C. margarine or butter
10 oz. marshmallows
1 t. green food coloring
6 C. corn flakes
cinnamon red hot candies (my son thinks red Skittles would be better)

1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
2. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted and blended into the butter.
3. Add the green food coloring and stir until mixed evenly into the marshmallow mixture.
4. Pour marshmallow mixture over the corn flakes in a large bowl. Mix quickly and gently until the corn flakes are evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.

5. Drop by spoonful onto waxed paper and decorate with red hots.
Makes about 30 clusters.

Thanks so much for posting this recipe. I teach with your niece and she brought these to share. We all wanted the recipe. I plan on making these to take to my daughters for Christmas.
