Snowflake Mix

Do need need something to snack on during the bowl games? Or for your New Year’s Eve party? I love the combination of sweet, salty, and crunchy in a snack. This recipe fulfills this medley of flavors. It’s a combination of cereal, pretzels, white baking chips, peanuts, and M & M’s. I made this intending to package it in cute little Christmas boxes to give away but ended up eating too much of it to do so. Oh, well! I am going to take some to the New Year’s Eve party we’ll be attending, though.

6 C. Crispix cereal
1 C. small pretzel twists
1 C. cocktail peanuts
2 – 12 oz. packages white baking pieces
1 – 12 oz. package of M & M’s

1. In a very large bowl, combine the cereal, pretzels, and peanuts.
2. Melt the baking pieces according to package directions. Pour the melted baking pieces over the cereal mixture; stir gently to coat.
3. Spread on waxed paper or parchment paper and sprinkle with M & M’s.
4. Cool an hour and break into pieces. Store in an airtight container up to one week or in the freezer for up to one month.

    Hi Sue,

Great idea for gifts! I could use black and gold M & M’s for teacher gifts for my two Goreville Blackcat kids or use blue and orange M & M’s for a snack for Sam while he’s watching his University of Illinois Illini play.
